It’s peach season here in my area and we love peaches! So we headed out to pick peaches and the girls and I had to refrain from picking more than I knew this downsized clan could eat. They were so ripe and juicy and just wanting to be picked and put into our baskets. If you have peaches in your area, I want to encourage you to take an afternoon and go pick some with your kiddos; what a memorable time you will have! Back home, we enjoyed them lots of yummy ways. First we just enjoyed a bowl full of fresh sliced juicy peaches! To skin them, we drop…

We just used up some scraps of fabric we had on hand and we got creative cutting and sewing them up. We added some buttons by hand and they were done. I did most of the cutting and she sat at my machine and did all the sewing. She is just learning to quilt and so it was…

    Summer Lemonade Jar

My daughter and I wanted to give a gift to her music teacher. We wanted it to be a fun and summery gift and so we made a Summer Lemonade jar!  I spotted the idea here.     It was so quick and simple. We put some green shreds and some fresh lemons in the jar and then my daughter just typed out the recipe on the computer and glued the recipe inside a card she made using yellow checked paper.     She then wrote a little note of thanks to her teacher on the inside as well, so it had her personal touch…..and Voila! It was done!…

    Mango Tips

Here’s a quick tip for cutting a Mango Cut bottom of mango off. Now stand upright on cut bottom as seen in photo. Simply run a paring knife down the sides and off comes the peeling– it’s that easy. Now just slice the fruit off the pit and use. You can cut the peeling off a lemon the very same way.
